A little tech talk: "k" stands for Kilobytes per second. This is considered the "bit rate" at which our stream is relayed from our server to your computer wherever you may be around the globe. Fast internet connections such as BROADBAND and DSL allow you to listen at the premium audio rates of 128k and 192k, while slower internet connections such as DIAL-UP or certain MOBILE PHONES perform better using our 32k or 64k AAC+ streams.
Home Stereo streaming: GoGirl.net is also available as a Top Station on Roku Lab's Soundbridge and Soundbridge Radio (Highly Recommended Internet Radio listening devices: Soundbridge plugs into your home stereo system; Soundbridge Radio is a stand alone radio device offering AM/FM/Internet Radio).
To begin listening: Simply use the CLICK TO LISTEN Tab or click on the Classic Radio icon in the middle of our Home Page. The STREAM LAUNCHER will pop-up, you can then choose the stream you prefer by clicking on the green PLAY ARROWS. The LAUNCHER also provides links to the various Music Players by clicking on the Logos for FREE Player Software downloads - it's quick and easy to try out all of the different players.
Once you select a stream in the LAUNCHER, your computer's default Music Player should pop-up and begin streaming the radio station. The Artist, Album and Song info should display in your player's window along with links to buy the full CD or download the song. Check out our Playlist Log to see the previous hour of music, including the currently playing selection on GoGirl.net Radio or keep our front page posted live on your desk top for up to date artist/song information.
Note about AAC+ Stream: Our 64k AAC+ sounds as good, if not better, then our 128k MP3 stream while using half of the amount of bandwidth. However it requires Winamp 5.0 or later (Windows) or VLC (Mac/Linux). The stream will not play properly in older versions of Winamp and will not play AT ALL in iTunes.
Note about the 192k Octoshape MP3 stream: To use the 192k MP3 stream, you will need to download the OCTOSHAPE Plug-in. Our team has determined that the PC plug-in works very well with Windows, Winamp and some other players but it's a little more challenging with Macs + iTunes. For the Octoshape plug-in to work, you need Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). The plug-in is available for both PowerPC and Intel based Macs. Please make sure you download the correct version.

Launching our stream through a Media Player: Our 128k mp3 stream is listed on many Internet Radio directories including Shoutcast.com and coming soon to iTunes. If our site is temporarily down, you should still be able to listen to us by launching our station from another directory.
Media Player facts: Most computers come with certain Media Players pre-installed and set as your default player. You can have more than one on your machine if you desire. If you do not currently have a player loaded onto your computer, or if you would like to try another one, you may choose from the following list below. These are the most popular players currently available and are FREE. Once you download the player and follow the installation prompts, a RESTART may be required before you begin streaming our station.
GoGirl.net preferred Media Players: iTunes and Winamp are at the top of our list. For the most connectivity and sound quality. All of these players can be downloaded for free, and often receive regular free software updates. Click on the player of your choice and follow the prompts to download your new player. You may be offered enhanced players and subscription opportunities, however, these are not necessary to listen to GoGirl.net Radio and are not affiliated with GoGirl.net.
If you choose to use your new player exclusively for streaming audio, you may need to set it as your default player on your computer so that it plays automatically when you launch GoGirl.net Radio. Please note that any audio branding associated with these players is the sole content of the player designer and does not in any way reflect the branding of GoGirl.net.
